Printing and Sewing with Cotton Jersey Fabrics
2 Day Creative Collaborative Workshop learning complimentary techniques and crafts.
A Collaboration, learn to design, print fabric and make your own Tunic Top with expert tution from Printmaker Lorna and Garment construction and sewing with me.
In this fantastic workshop you will become familiarised with screen printing tools, equipment, techniques and primary skills to develop personalised prints on cloth, following on the next day to make a beautiful unique Tunic Top designing the look using your printed fabric pieces.

You will be provided with Natural Fibre Bamboo Jersey fabric lengths, ready cut for you to print.
Day 1: With Lorna you will learn learn the techniques of printing using the tools and equipment provided in the studio. This class is the perfect introduction to screen printing on fabrics. You will be given design and image guidance along with colour and pattern to create your print.
Day Two: Make a cotton Jersey T top with Abi
Some sewing machine experience is useful to learn the technique of working with jersey stretch fabrics.
Using the fabrics printed on day one, make a 14 square modular T tunic top. Each section of the garment must be pinned and stitched in a certain order to allow the garment to hang well and the sleeves and the collar to fit in place. All tuition will be provided by Abi.
All materials provided and fabric will be provided ready and cut to size. You will learn to design the layout of your printed and unprinted pieces into a unique design for your T Top. Pin, stitch and press each piece together. Stitch neat edges and hems. Finish with a funnel/ cowl neck or bound edge.
The class is suitable for complete beginners in print and some sewing experinece is useful but not essential as all tuition will be given.
